Honor says the dynamic range of the main camera is comparable to that of the Sony Alpha a7S III
Today Honor presented its super flagship — smartphone Honor Magic6 Ultimate. The premiere took place in China and it is not a fact that this model will appear outside the Middle Kingdom, but this does not mean that Magic6 Ultimate will not be able to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
The new Honor flagship received a 6.8-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2800 × 1280 pixels, frame rate 120 Hz. The PWM control frequency is 4320Hz, so the display does not flicker in most conditions.
The device is built on SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the amount of RAM — exclusively 16 GB, flash memory — 512 GB or 1 TB. The device supports two-way satellite communication and IP68 protection. The battery capacity is 5600 mAh, it supports wired charging with a power of 80 W and wireless charging with a power of 66 W.
The highlight of Honor Magic6 Ultimate — once again improved Eagle Eye camera. It uses three sensors: two sensors with a resolution of 50 megapixels (in the main module and a module with an ultra-wide-angle lens), as well as a 180-megapixel sensor in the periscope module with optical zoom. Main sensor — H9800 (aka OmniVision OV50K) with an optical format of 1/1.3 inches, a variable aperture lens F/1.4–2.0 and an optical stabilization system. An important feature — Due to LOFIC technology, the dynamic range of the main module is expanded to 15 exposure steps. Honor says that in this parameter the Magic6 Ultimate is not inferior to the Sony Alpha a7S III camera. A 1200-point lidar is responsible for focusing accuracy.
Pre-sales of Honor Magic6 Ultimate started today immediately after the premiere of the new product, open retail sales in China are scheduled for March 22. The prices are as follows: 16/512 GB — $970, 16GB/1TB — $1070.
