The Autonews resource tested the new Lada Vesta with a CVT while driving and found a lot of interesting things in the car. As for the operation of the variator, there are no complaints about it. There are complaints about quality.
Lada Vesta with a CVT turned out to be quite a dynamic car. «The new Vesta with its own 122-horsepower engine and a Chinese variator drives much faster than the previous one, which is confirmed by both factory measurements and subjective feelings », — writes Autonews.
The reviewer notes that the box works perfectly: «Vesta» it starts off smoothly, gears are switched without jolts, you can brake with the engine, and when accelerating, it hits the floor. the motor does not «freeze» at higher speeds. The only thing you need to keep in mind: «Vesta». Now there is no traction control system, under certain conditions this threatens to hit the transmission and can lead to gearbox failure. And the CVT does not have a sports mode.
But there are problems with quality in «Vestu» with a CVT, apparently, migrated from the regular “Vesta” with «mechanics». So, in one car the imported paddle shifters worked normally, and in another— not clear. One of the cars has a digital dashboard… I didn’t see gas in a full tank, and in another the cruise control turned on only after the engine was restarted.
