The internal combustion engine is used to charge the battery and power the electric motor
SYM introduced the PE 3 hybrid scooter, in which the main source of propulsion is an electric motor. However, when the battery voltage drops below 60V, the combustion engine turns on, charging the battery and supplying more power to the electric motor.
There is no physical connection between the internal combustion engine and the transmission. His only goal — charge the battery, which then transfers power to the electric motor. SYM claims that the electric motor can provide a range of around 35 km when fully charged. When the gasoline engine comes into play, one liter is enough for about 90 km, and the gas tank capacity is 3 liters. That is, the total power reserve of the model exceeds 300 km.
At the moment, SYM has not yet announced the price of PE 3 and other characteristics.
