Nova Lake processors will contain a tile (or several) from TSMC
As you know, Intel does not only produce chips for Meteor Lake processors on its own. According to new data, even Nova Lake CPUs, which are expected only at the end of 2025, will also continue to use chiplets produced by TSMC.
Currently, the Meteor Lake CPU contains an iGPU chiplet (tile) and a SoC chiplet, both produced by TSMC. It is still unknown what the company will produce for Nova Lake processors, but it is known that we are talking about the 2 nm process technology.
This is quite interesting, since this year Intel should release processors, chiplets for which will be produced by the company itself using the Intel 18A technical process, which supposedly, judging by the name, should be even better than the 2-nanometer technical process TSMC. However, Intel still will not be able to refuse the help of the Taiwanese company.
As for the CPUs themselves, there is only one rumor about Nova Lake so far from mid-2021, when it was reported that Nova Lake will be the biggest change since the first Core, and all architectures will be developed completely from scratch. For example, Meteor Lake CPUs are actually not very different architecturally from Alder Lake.
