Intel has shown how it will conquer the artificial intelligence market. The company demonstrated the Gaudi3 accelerator

by alex

It will be released next year

Intel not only claims that «the entire industry is interested in eliminating the Nvidia CUDA market», but also continues to develop its own accelerators for AI. Today Intel showed off the Gaudi3, due out next year.

There are no details about this solution yet, but Intel itself says that performance in BF16 mode, which is important for AI, will be increased four times compared to Gaudi2, and throughput will increase by one and a half times . True, for Gaudi2 we do not know the performance indicators in this mode, and it is unclear where and how actively such accelerators are used.

Intel itself says that the Gaudi line has seen significant growth due to performance and total cost of ownership. Considering that there are definitely not enough Nvidia accelerators for everyone, Intel may well succeed in this market.
