Intel sees the future in an open ecosystem
Intel has promised nothing less than to break Nvidia's dominance in the artificial intelligence accelerator market.
Now Intel occupies a very small share in this market, far behind even AMD, which, in turn, lags several times behind Nvidia. In this situation, Intel is not going to fight with hardware at all. Intel's main weapon, according to its own statement, is the openness of the ecosystem.
AI — this is the biggest change since the advent of the Internet. Intel's strategy includes creating an open ecosystem spanning everything from PCs to data centers. This allows other companies to use Intel Foundry to outsource semiconductors, allowing Intel to support the entire artificial intelligence market
The manufacturer also reiterated its commitment to establishing close relationships with Korean companies such as Samsung and Hynix, saying they will play a vital role in the future of the markets. Considering that they produce HBM memory, which is extremely important for accelerators, this makes sense.
In Intel's statement, one can also highlight a point regarding its own factories, that is, the company offers everyone, among other things, to produce their chips at its facilities.
