95% domestic components, only high-resolution cameras so far Chinese

According to the Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov, satellite production has been opened in the Stavropol Territory. The head of the region spoke about this during a working meeting with the President of the Russian Federation in Pyatigorsk. According to Vladimirov, the first domestic private satellite for remote sensing of the Earth called «Stilsat» was created in collaboration with Chinese colleagues, it provides a resolution of no worse than 0.5 meters from an altitude of 500 kilometers, the weight of the satellite — about 400 kilograms. With this resolution, you can consider a linear object larger than 0.5 meters in size (for example, a car). Component base of the device — up to 95% Russian, but there are no domestic cameras with a resolution of 0.5 meters yet, so Chinese ones are used.

As the head of the Stavropol region said, it is planned to create a specialized design bureau in the region, and starting from the fourth device, the production of high-resolution cameras will be carried out on site. Production is being formed in Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk; in 2025, production volumes will be increased to seven satellites per year. The devices designed by Russian specialists will be able to obtain ultra-high-resolution images with an accuracy of up to 50 centimeters per pixel in order to provide both government and commercial organizations with highly detailed data. Such images are used to create and update topographic maps and plans, compile cadastres of land and other natural resources, territorial development planning, design and construction of engineering structures, as well as environmental monitoring.
