The PlayStation community believed that they would show something different at the Sony CES event, but they miscalculated.
Sony dedicated the event to the Afeela car, which is being prepared jointly with the Honda Corporation. But no special details were provided.
The gaming community hoped for more. Under the Realizing Vision post with the first frames of the animated film Gravity Rush and the new Patapon project, there are a lot of negative comments about the presentation.
Gamers want a new game in the Gravity Rush series, but, according to them , instead the company is destroying brands and not exploiting their gigantic potential.
- “All she had to do was create an animated film that fully captured the graphic style, tone and atmosphere of the games. You could even outsource it to a studio like Kyoto Animation, Telecom Animation Film, or even CoMix Wave Films. That's all you had to do to make the film adaptation of Gravity Rush work, and you couldn't even do that. Why are you guys so bad at managing the Sony Pictures gaming brands?”
- “Please don't destroy Gravity Rush. The game had a great graphical style, please don't take that away from it. I don't understand your obsession with hyperrealism and fear of more interesting styles. I see you're also killing Patapon.”
- “Patapon, a game with a great 2D style, has become in 3D and became soulless.”
- “Instead of making movies, Sony should make games.”
- “We want Gravity Rush 3, not a movie.”
- “I don’t understand Sony’s obsession with hyperrealism. Do they really think this will help sell niche series better? By robbing them of their signature style or vision? If they can't please the fans, no one will like them. I see absolutely no reason why a Gravity Rush movie shouldn't be animated like Spider-Verse.”
Gamers note that Sony should have made new games based on the aforementioned series, or at least an animation based on the world of Gravity Rush, but instead the producers changed the characteristic style of the series.
Critical comments predominate under the Realizing Vision material – at the time of publication of the note it had 270 “likes” and 2100 “dislikes”.
