Frame generation is now even on portable game consoles with Ryzen APUs. AMD expands AFMF support on iGPU Radeon 700M

But this is a specific technology

AMD has expanded support for Fluid Motion Frames technology to integrated Radeon 700M GPUs.

Recall that we are talking about a frame generator, which is part of FSR 3, but implemented through a driver. In this case, you do not need to support FSR of any version in the game itself, but simply activate AFMF directly in the driver. Technically, all games with DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 are technically supported, but there is a very important nuance that AMD directly warns about on the website. AFMF is disabled if you actively move the mouse. It also instantly turns back on if you stop actively moving the mouse, but in any case, this means that for certain genres that require such behavior from the gamer, AFMF is effectively useless. But there are genres where this technology feels quite normal.

So, numerous Ryzen 7040U-based handheld consoles and all other Ryzen 7040 and upcoming Ryzen 8040-powered PCs could see huge performance boosts in certain games thanks to AFMF. However, for now, support for the Radeon 700M is implemented in the beta version of the Adrenalin driver.
