According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as of December 20, Ford has issued 54 vehicle recalls that could potentially affect 5,692,135 vehicles in 2023 & mdash; more than any other automaker. For the third year in a row, Ford ranks #1 in vehicle recalls in the United States.
If we talk strictly about the affected cars, then Ford had almost twice as many of them as Kia, which took second place. We are talking about 3 million cars, most of which were damaged due to brake fluid leaks, which could lead to a risk of fire. Based on total recalls, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles USA was second behind Ford with 45 recalls, affecting 2.7 million vehicles. BMW had 29 reviews, Mercedes-Benz — 27, and closes the top five Nissan with 22 reviews.
Ford's performance is down from 68 recalls affecting 8.5 million vehicles in 2022, but it is still far ahead of other automakers. The situation has improved by about 30% over last year, according to Ford.

The position of Volkswagen, which did not make it into the top 12 of this anti-rating, has significantly improved. The company carried out 18 recalls that affected 332,700 vehicles. This is significantly lower than last year.
Tesla received the prize for the largest recall: the company recalled more than 2 million cars at one time.
