As AvtoVAZ reported, the WLY CVT18 is well suited for the engine compartment, is quite reliable and is designed for high torque (from 180 N·m, while the peak torque of the 1.8 EVO motor — 170 N·m).
AvtoVAZ said that the box was not just taken and installed on the «Vesta» — changes have been made to it. For example, shifting gears up in manual mode is carried out by moving towards you. (this is more understandable), but it was «from myself». In the CVT Lada Vesta, the engine is tuned specifically for the new transmission, and the ABS system also has its own settings. Another interesting thing: the right wheel drive received an intermediate support, which improves controllability during intensive driving.
