EU authorities forced Apple to allow the installation of third-party stores on its devices, but only in the EU

Epic Games has announced that it will be bringing Fortnite back to iOS devices before the end of this year through its own Epic Games Store app. This was facilitated by a bill passed in the European Union, which forced Apple to allow the installation of applications from third-party sites.

The company also noted that it will not stop its fight against Apple, considering the actions of the technology giant “breaking the law”.

Although Apple generally satisfied the demands of European officials, the company still changed its own rules so such that developers will now be required to pay the company €0.50 for each installation of their apps, bypassing the App Store, after they cross the one million download threshold. Using some simple math, you can calculate that for every million downloads, companies will have to pay Apple €500,000/$542,000.
