The Last of Us 2 remaster reveals some remarkable information about one of the script options being considered. At one point, Naughty suggested that Ellie could kill Abby, thereby restarting the cycle of revenge.
Back home, the heroine would face the consequences of her decisions – the character- a persecutor who wants revenge for what she did. This vigilante is not related to Abby or her friends, but could be the hypothetical parent of the NPC that Ellie killed during one of the shootouts. This is how the creators planned to demonstrate the cyclical nature of the story of revenge.
