From 12,000 to 15,000 euros
German startup e-Revolt offers a service for converting gasoline and diesel cars into electric vehicles. Of course, e-Revolt — Not the first company to offer this solution, but they have streamlined the process, reducing rework time to eight hours.
In addition, e-Revolt is aimed at ordinary low-cost cars. As the company's managing director and technical director Rolf Behling told Euronews Next, this modification is currently compatible with 42 different models.
The conversion work is 12,000 to 15,000 euros. That's a lot, but there are still few truly cheap electric vehicles on the market, so this conversion may appeal to budget-conscious users. Don't forget that replacing the battery with the same Tesla costs about the same amount.
e-Revolt claims that the battery charge will last for 250–300 km. Because the bolt-on conversion kit is modular, a vehicle already converted can upgrade to a future upgraded battery when it becomes available.
The conversion process begins with a preliminary inspection of the vehicle to ensure that it can be converted into an electric vehicle. The petrol/diesel engine is then removed along with other components that are no longer needed. The startup does not throw away old parts, but either recycles them or reuses them in other projects.
Electric motor power and battery capacity, as well as charging time are not specified.
