Capcom does not please fans with new games in the Dino Crisis franchise. Enthusiasts do everything themselves
Capcom is focusing a lot of attention on the Resident Evil franchise, and there haven't been any new Dino Crisis for a long time. However, the games have many fans who would like to receive a remaster or remake (or even a full-fledged new game).
While Capcom is in no hurry to please Dino Crisis connoisseurs, enthusiasts themselves are updating the classics .
The Dino Crisis 2 Rebirth project was recently presented – a modification designed to make the game smoother on modern PCs. Instead of DirectDraw 7, Direct3D 9 is used here, which allows for better compatibility with new video cards.
Besides this, Dino Crisis 2 Rebirth has XInput, RawInput, etc. instead of DirectInput 7, and also supports XAudio2 for audio, there is a dedicated video player that does not need additional codecs.
This improvised remaster of Dino Crisis 2 Rebirth has made some improvements, e.g. bring back missing or broken graphics and sound effects, ensure smooth music playback, and adjust volume levels so everything sounds just right. The problem with the frame rate has also been fixed – you can play at 20, 30, 60 FPS.
