Titanium is used in aviation and other important industries

About 15% of the world's titanium reserves are in Russia, but existing technologies for its extraction are too expensive, so scientists are developing new technologies for enriching titanium ore.

«In recent years, we have carried out a very large revision of technological cycles. Indeed, Russia has colossal reserves of titanium — about 580 million tons of titanium dioxide. This is 15% of the world's reserves, but in our country, titanium deposits are characterized by complex ores that contain metal», — said the head of Rosnedr Evgeny Petrov following the results of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

He added that the technologies being developed for enriching titanium ore should ultimately reduce the cost of titanium at all stages of the technological chain from mining to final products.
