Pre-orders for the Apple Vision Pro headset began selling on eBay with a huge markup almost immediately after launch.
Apple Vision Pro is Apple's first attempt at a mixed reality headset. Pre-orders opened on January 19, and the headset will ship two weeks later on February 2, 2024.
Delivery times quickly increased during the pre-order process due to demand, and resellers on eBay began this use. Within the first hour, there were listings for sale with a huge markup of over $1,000.
The base model of the headset costs $3,499, but there are listings on eBay for $4,250 and $4,500 plus cost of delivery. Once the auction takes its share of the commission, sellers will quickly make about $1,000 in profit. Most of the announcements are for the base version of Vision Pro 256 GB.
