The last car to come off the assembly line is a representative of the limited edition SRT Demon 170 with a V8 engine producing 1025 hp.
Last Friday, December 22, Dodge discontinued production of the Challenger muscle car. The news comes a week after the Challenger's main competitor was discontinued – Chevrolet Camaro.
The latest Challenger was the limited edition SRT Demon 170 in black and with a V8 engine. The manufacturer did not say whether the last car went to a museum or whether it was sold like all the other cars. Photos of the car were also not shown.
The final series of the SRT Demon 170 was presented in March of this year. The 6.2-liter turbocharged V8 engine of this model develops 900 hp. on gasoline, and on ethanol (E85 fuel) – 1025 hp
The current Challenger will be replaced by a completely new car: with the same name, it will receive an electric power plant of 400 hp. in the basic version up to 880 hp. in the top. It is possible that the new line will still have a version with a gasoline engine, but there will definitely not be a V8 engine – it will be replaced with a turbocharged V6 engine.
