As an example of the good work of the testing department, American employees of the company cite The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, on which teams from Japan worked
Nintendo of America decided to carry out a restructuring, as part of which the company fired some of the contractors responsible for testing games and devices. The wave of layoffs was significant, four current and former testers told Kotaku.
Others were transferred in-house to various new non-testing positions.
It is unknown how many people have lost their jobs, but Kotaku's interlocutors believe that the layoffs could affect about 100 people.
Workers believe that the quality of Nintendo games may now decline because the company will not be able to conduct more thorough testing of its projects. As an example of the good work of the testing department, American employees cite The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, on which teams from Japan worked.
