But it is unlikely that such a memory will appear in the near future
Samsung brought GDDR7 memory to GTC 2024 with an effective frequency of 32 GHz, which is capable of operating at a frequency of 28 GHz, and this is what is credited with the first video cards with GDDR7. At the same time, we have heard about memory with frequencies up to 37 GHz. It turned out that this is not the maximum, since Hynix claims that GDDR7 can operate at a higher frequency.
At the company's stand one could see a GDDR7 chip indicating that the frequency of such memory can reach 40 GHz! In addition, such chips can have a capacity of up to 24 Gbit, that is, 3 GB per chip. This will allow video cards to be equipped with more memory with fewer soldered chips.
Whether such memory will ever appear in consumer video cards remains anyone's guess. But at least we can hope for such an indicator as a guideline, though probably not for the coming generation of adapters.
