The only difference is in NPU
GPD was one of the first to announce a portable gaming console based on the Ryzen 8000 APU. And today the manufacturer shared performance results.
In this case we are talking about the APU Ryzen 7 8840U — the flagship of the new AMD line. The result is still available in CPU-Z, that is, it concerns only the processor part. These are 865.6 and 7056.4 points in single-threaded and multi-threaded modes, respectively, in the V19 AVX-512 test and 664.2 and 5628.3 points in the V17 test.
And as expected, this is the same thing that the Ryzen 7 7840U demonstrates, since technically these processors are almost completely identical. The difference between APUs in these tests does not exceed 2%, which can be safely ignored.
There is no data on the GPU, but there should be no differences there either, since the Radeon 780M with a frequency of 2700 MHz is retained.
Recall that in fact the difference is only in the NPU unit, which AMD calls Ryzen AI. In the new processor, its performance has been increased from 10 to 16 TOPS.
