Volkswagen will release a new variant of the Golf GTI at the end of the month. CEO Thomas Schaefer posted a short teaser on his LinkedIn account, revealing the car's debut date — May 31, during the Nürburgring 24 Hours race. He recalled that in 2024 the brand celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Golf.

The video shows the hot hatch driving around the iconic race track, but Volkswagen has pixelated the finer details. The new variant is expected to get a sportier front bumper, rear bumper, unique wheels, as well as custom interior trim elements.

As VW celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Golf, there is a high chance that the new GTI variant will be the Clubsport 50 or Edition 50. Volkswagen has been releasing anniversary cars every five years, starting with the Mk3 20 Years Edition.< /p>
