Dealers began to raise prices
Monitoring prices for popular foreign cars showed that large dealers have rewritten the cost of cars upward. Autonews provides current prices.
If previously a Volkswagen Bora could be bought for 2.9 million rubles, now the price has risen to 3.2 million rubles. Hyundai Custo — added the same 300 thousand rubles. Now the dealer is asking 5.8 million rubles for a Korean minivan. The Mitsubishi Outlander has a similar increase: in 2023, the front-wheel drive version cost 4.0 million rubles, now — 4.3 million rubles. All-wheel drive Outlander has risen in price less — by 100 thousand rubles (up to 4.6 million rubles).
The Toyota Highlander added the most: cars imported from China were sold for 6.69 million rubles in 2023, now exactly the same car with a 248-horsepower engine, «automatic» and all-wheel drive costs 7.3 million rubles. True, the equipment of the crossover has become a little better.
A Toyota Camry sedan with a 2.5-liter engine (it is also imported from China) cost 4.7 million rubles in January 2024, now — 4.9 million rubles. We are talking about cars in the same trim levels.
A capital dealer sold a Skoda Superb 2023 last year for 4.0 million rubles, the price of the same car is now — 4.5 million rubles. Taking into account the «benefits» (both credit and trade-in) the price can be «brought closer» to the mark of 4 million rubles.
Finally, the Mazda CX-4 and Volkswagen Tayron added, but not so significantly: plus 100 thousand rubles (up to 3.2 million rubles) and 50 thousand rubles (4.65 million rubles), respectively.
As the head of the parallel import department of the «Pragmatika» network of dealership centers told Autonews Andrey Chekurov, starting from April, cars will become more expensive in all segments, but in the premium segment this will be less noticeable, since the average bill is quite high and the client is less sensitive to price changes.
