The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, was shown a prototype of the new Russian training aircraft UTS-800 during a working trip to the Ural Civil Aviation Plant. He appeared in a short video.

What’s interesting: it turns out that test flights of the UTS-800 began in the fall of 2023, but this was not officially reported.

According to the concept of pilot training put forward by MiG specialists, the UTS-800, along with the Yak-152, will be used at the first stage of flight training of future pilots (three stages in total). According to official data, cruising speed is 360 km/h, ceiling height – 6 km, maximum take-off weight – 2150 kg, empty weight of the aircraft – 1700 kg. The UTS-800 series should be equipped with the domestic VK-800PS turboprop engine from «ODK-Klimov».
