If Porsche continues to sell the Macan in Europe, it will have to pay a fine of 30 thousand euros for each car sold
Next spring, Porsche will stop selling the gasoline-powered Macan crossover in Europe. For Macan – It's like the goose that lays the golden eggs: this is the brand's most popular car in the region. But the gasoline version, alas, does not comply with the new UNECE WP.29 cybersecurity rules, so the company decided to curtail sales.
Porsche explained that upgrading the crossover to comply with the new rules would be very expensive, and if not upgraded and sold as is, you would have to pay a fine of 30 thousand euros for each car sold.
However, Porsche is minimizing losses with the release of the all-new Macan – with an electric power plant. Its premiere is expected in early 2024, with sales starting a few months after its debut.
