GAC presented a new version of the Toyota Alphard alternative, choosing for it a name typical of Chinese companies — GAC Trumpchi M8 Grandmaster Pioneer Cockpit Edition.
The car will go on sale on February 24, while the manufacturer has confirmed that the GAC Trumpchi M8 Grandmaster Pioneer Cockpit Edition will be the company's first car to receive a smart cockpit based on the HarmonyOS operating system developed by Huawei.
According to the data published so far, the GAC Trumpchi M8 Grandmaster Pioneer Cockpit Edition will receive a built-in Huawei application store, which contains more than 50 applications tailored for the car's entertainment system. In addition, content synchronization with smartphones, tablets, smart speakers with screens, smart watches and other devices is promised.
The appearance of the GAC Trumpchi M8 Grandmaster Pioneer Cockpit Edition is almost the same as the previously released M8 Grandmaster Edition: the body dimensions are 5212 x 1893 x 1823 mm, the wheelbase is 3070 mm.
The fuel version is powered by a 2.0L engine producing a maximum power of 185kW and a maximum torque of 400Nm and is mated to an Aisin automatic transmission. The hybrid version is equipped with an advanced Toyota 2.0TM hybrid system with an internal combustion engine of 134 kW and a torque of 270 Nm, an electric motor of 140 kW and a torque of 330 Nm, as well as an E-CVT.
