Stellantis plans to use ChatGPT in Peugeot cars to improve the voice assistant by joining to competitors like Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz.
We will implement ChatGPT in all vehicles, including the new e-3008 model, and small commercial vehicles.
—Jérôme Micheron, Peugeot Product Plan Director.
Peugeot will pilot its ChatGPT service, which can connect to the car's control system and answer many general or navigation-related questions, in five countries – France, the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain. The service is expected to become standard equipment this year.
Last year, Mercedes-Benz began testing in the United States by giving drivers the ability to use ChatGPT, saying it should help them get more natural responses and handle queries ranging from destination details to dinner suggestions, Reuters reported.

Volkswagen said earlier this month that by mid-year its voice assistant will be integrated with ChatGPT to facilitate interactive dialogue with drivers. Peugeot also said it would introduce a new eight-year warranty on the e-3008, up from the current two-year warranty on traditional cars, in a bid to encourage drivers to switch to electric vehicles.
