Usually planned for 5–10 years
Microsoft insider Nick Baker mentioned in the latest XboxEra podcast that the Microsoft Xbox team «currently has sufficient resources» and even «planned her future for the next 10–15 years» to try to overtake Sony in the «console war».
Under normal circumstances, platform holders' plans do not exceed 5-10 years, but given the previous successful acquisitions of Bethesda and Activision Blizzard, Microsoft is currently planning «a gaming roadmap for the next 10 years& raquo; for «console war».
The podcast states that Microsoft has now taken a very ambitious stance towards the Xbox business. The company plans to release Ara: History Untold, Avoved, the new Microsoft Flight Simulator, Hellblade II and other games next year.
Nick Baker also mentioned that Microsoft is currently expanding a number of its studios, including hiring more staff for Compulsion Games, the developer of South of Midnight, to improve the speed of development of its games.
