The Chinese company Longsoon, known for its quite good processors of its own design, has reportedly received a fairly large government order.
Hebi City Government purchased 10,000 computers for 50 city schools, and these PCs are based on Longsoon CPU. Computers also use Chinese software, and Longsoon itself participated in the creation of educational materials.
School computers are based on Loongson 3A5000 processors. These are far from the company’s latest CPUs, which can hardly be compared with the first generation Ryzen. However, for school purposes this should be enough.
The company notes that it plans to expand this experience to more regions across the country, meaning many more Chinese schools may have Loongson-based PCs in the future.
