MG Cyberster Red Top Edition has hit showrooms in China after being announced back in January. It is offered at a price of about $50,000. The car received the same characteristics as the Cyberster AWD 520 in the top configuration. This version includes a unique pearl white body combined with a bright red convertible roof.
Unlike other convertible sports cars, the MG Cyberster's roof is not only fully electric, but also opens/closes in 10 seconds while driving if the vehicle's speed is below 50 km/h. In addition, it received scissor doors. Weighing approximately two tons, the Cyberster features Brembo brakes with four-piston fixed calipers and a robust roll cage to provide safety measures for occupants.
The Cyberster chassis was tuned by the Italian team DANISI, previously associated with the F1 Ferrari team. The dimensions of the Cyberster are 4534 x 1913 x 1329 mm, and with a wheelbase of 2690 mm, the Cyberster is noticeably larger than its main competitor in the same price range — Mazda MX-5 Miata. The car features an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.269cd. It has a low center of gravity with a height of 440 mm, the car is equipped with a front double-wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension.
This model includes a front permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces up to 150 kW of power, as well as a rear motor that produces 250 kW. With a combined power of 400 kW, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. It is equipped with a 77 kWh battery, providing a range of 520 km.
The cabin has three screens and a Bose audio system.
