On the collective funding site Kickstarter, they began to raise funds for the release of a smart watch called Retro Gaming Watch. When unfolded, the device turns into something like a Game Boy, only small. Retro Gaming Watch will allow you to play 8- and 16-bit games, but this will not be emulation: the developers plan to prepare a set of tools for «conversion» old games and writing new ones «based on».
The main processor of the system – Renesas DA14706, complemented by 8 GB of RAM. There are two more ARM M0 processor cores, they process data from various sensors. The hardware platform also includes a 2D GPU.
There are two screens, the main (internal) – with a diagonal of 1.54 inches, a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and a frame rate of 60 Hz. Among other equipment – Heart rate sensor, microSD card slot, speaker, accelerometer, light sensor.
For the release of Retro Gaming Watch, it was planned to raise 35 thousand dollars, but more than 50 thousand dollars have already been collected, and the fundraising campaign ends only in 22 days.
