Dragon's Dogma 2 was awaited for many years, but the final product became an example of modern AAA development, which received appropriate feedback from dissatisfied players
Dragon's Dogma 2 was recently released. More than 10 years have passed since the release of the first part of the Capcom game.
However, the triumphant return of the franchise became a real PR- a disaster: Dragon's Dogma 2 has a huge number of negative reviews on Steam, which allowed the new product to break into the top 50 worst games in Steam history. At the same time, a significant part of the negativity is not related to the quality of the game itself (although here, too, there is a “standard set of AAA project” – problems with optimization).
The point is: that Capcom, with the release of Dragon's Dogma 2, filled the store with all sorts of paid add-ons that have a direct impact on the gameplay: they offer consumable items, like stones for raising the dead; changes in character appearance; changing the character of a pawn; or Breach crystals, which can be used to hire pawns or buy special items.
Over time, some people tried Dragon's Dogma 2 itself, so the rating on Steam grew to the “Mixed” level and the game rose to 64th place in the worst list, i.e. up to Wolfenstein Youngblood level.
