It has a distinctly off-road design
The already well-known Chinese car brand BAIC in Russia (the assembly of BAIC cars was established in Kaliningrad at the facilities of Avtotor) presented a very interesting SUV BAIC BJ30 in China. This model stands out for its distinctly utilitarian design, good equipment and low price. And in the top version there is also a very powerful hybrid power plant.
In China, the BAIC BJ30 is presented as a compact SUV, but in reality it is a mid-size model with dimensions of 4730 x 1910 x 1790 mm and a wheelbase of 2820 mm. In the home market, it will compete with similar cars from other manufacturers. For example, Haval Big Dog (aka Haval Dargo 2, aka Haval H7 — in Russia and other export markets).
The stated ground clearance is 215 mm, approach and departure angles — 25° and 30° respectively. All-wheel drive is already included in the base, and there are two options here: classic honest part-time and intelligent based on a clutch on the rear axle.
Everything in the cabin is modern, but not without a twist. For example, there are flexible door handles, an unusually shaped gear shift knob, and among the options — a mattress that allows you to organize a double bed 1.9 m long and a projection screen. Digital instrument panel — with a 10.25-inch diagonal screen, media system — with a 14.6-inch screen and a single-chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 system.
In the base for 17 thousand dollars, under the hood of the BAIC BJ30 there will be a 1.5-liter engine with 188 hp. The top version is much more interesting. It is a hybrid, with a 1.5-liter A156T2H engine and two electric motors. The total power of the power plant — 409 hp! This car accelerates to 100 km/h in 6 seconds, and the range on a full tank exceeds 1000 km.
Exact pre-order prices for the BAIC BJ30 will be announced next week at the Beijing Auto Show.
