In the next 6 years, the number of charging stations should increase by more than 10 times
First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Andrei Belousov held a meeting on the development of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, during which he instructed to create a unified service for the use of charging stations for electric vehicles. This is described on the official portal of the Russian government.
During the discussion, Belousov noted that in connection with the promising growth of charging stations in the next few years, it is necessary to work on the issue of creating a digital environment that will make the use of electric vehicles as efficient and accessible as possible. He noted:
In the next 6 years, the number of charging stations should increase by more than 10 times. As their number increases, it is necessary to give motorists comfortable access to up-to-date information about their work.
The First Deputy Prime Minister also ordered the development of a minimum set of requirements for national charging station services, which should cover the majority of Russian regions. These requirements, in particular, include the need to monitor the status of the station and individual connectors in real time, identify stations in map services, and the ability to receive feedback on the operation of stations from other users. He emphasized:
To popularize the electric vehicle market, we must not only make stations accessible to the public, but also create a system, a digital connection, on the basis of which operators will develop their services for the convenience of consumers.
At the moment, the number of fast electric filling stations in Russia is about 1,150 units, almost all of them were put into operation within the framework of the government’s initiative “Electric car and hydrogen car.” and a special subsidy program effective from 2022. The country's fleet of electric vehicles has increased to more than 40 thousand vehicles, of which about 10 thousand were produced in Russia.
