It can work without charging for a record 10 days for such devices

Moscow production association «Metalist» Rostec state corporation has developed a bionic knee module «Kometa» with built-in microprocessor. A pre-production sample of the device was first presented at the national forum «Hope for Technology 2023», which was held in Moscow from December 11 to 12, 2023. Module «Comet» capable of operating on a single charge for 10 days; according to the manufacturer, this is an unattainable indicator for similar products.

Bionic knee module «Comet» designed for prosthetic users with average and high levels of physical activity. The built-in microprocessor collects and processes data in real time at a speed of more than a thousand times per second, and the neural network predicts the rhythm and pattern of walking, which allows the prosthesis to be used in various ways — from a calm step to a light run.

The module body is very durable; it is made by additive printing from the domestic RS-553 alloy and protects electronic components from deformation and mechanical damage. According to the creators, the prosthesis fully meets the requirements of end consumers, and in some respects it surpasses global analogues. The «Comet» module is in serial production. will be launched after final testing in the first quarter of 2024.
