A trailer for World of Goo 2 was shown at The Game Awards 2023. This is a sequel to the comedy physics-based construction game.
The video shows the new chaotic and strange events that await players. Slippery oil slicks, cracking mountains, snow storms and islands floating in the sky.
The original World of Goo was released on PC and Nintendo Switch in 2008. The game was based on the simple idea of using Goo balls to help players reach certain points to solve puzzles and solve physics-related problems. The game became a bestseller, and players instantly fell in love with the adorable slime blobs.
The puzzle game may seem lighthearted and fun at first, but as players complete the challenges, they'll hear poignant commentary on consumer culture and corporations.
The game will be released in 2024. Studio 2D Boy says it's “the biggest game we've ever made.”
