They will be presented tomorrow
GeForce RTX 40 Super video cards will be presented tomorrow. Judging by the second leak, the prices will indeed be the same as we have already indicated.
That is, the RTX 4070 Super will cost $600 (the regular RTX 4070 will supposedly drop to $550), the RTX 4070 Ti Super will cost $800. That is, new versions will be released at the same prices at which the original models were released.
But the RTX 4080 Super, surprisingly, will be immediately $200 cheaper than the RTX 4080 at the start of sales, that is, it will come with a price of $1000. Moreover, in the time since its announcement, the RTX 4080 has not fallen much in price, so now it costs more than a new and more productive version will cost tomorrow.
Insider MEGAsizeGPU, who shared the information, adds that the RTX 4070 Super will be approximately on par with the RTX 4070 Ti in many games. The first tests we saw yesterday suggest that the latter may still be a little faster, but the former will be much cheaper.
The author also says that the RTX 4070 Ti Super will be on par with the RTX 4080 in many games. But this is much more interesting. If you look at the current tests, the RTX 4080 is 20-25% ahead of the RTX 4070 Ti, which is quite a lot. True, it is one and a half times more expensive, but now it doesn’t matter. That is, the RTX 4070 Ti Super should be about 20% faster than the regular version in order to catch up with the RTX 4080. At the same time, the RTX 4070 Ti Super will have more memory relative to the regular model (16 GB versus 12 GB), a wider bus (256 bits versus 192 bits ) and 10% more CUDA cores. Whether that's enough to catch up with the RTX 4080 remains to be seen, but if it is, the RTX 4070 Ti Super would be a snazzy proposition at $800. The RTX 4080 Super, in turn, will still be far from the RTX 4090, as it will only have 5% more CUDA cores. But the price reduction will make it much more profitable, especially given the fact that the RTX 4090 is now asking about 2,000 dollars/euro.
The insider adds that Nvidia's strategy is to never reduce the prices of its video cards, but instead release new models. True, the example of the RTX 4070, if it really remains on the market, as well as some other video cards, shows that there are still exceptions.
MEGAsizeGPU insider previously spoke about the launch of the RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti before the announcement, the dates for the release of these models to the market, as well as the appearance of the RTX 4090D model.
