Elon Musk today, through his Twitter account (X), officially announced the next new Tesla car — it will be a new generation Tesla Roadster. As Musk himself described the new product, «there will never be such a car, if it can be called a car at all».

The head of Tesla said that the official premiere of the Roadster will take place at the end of this year, but deliveries of production cars — only next year. According to Musk, the new Roadster will accelerate to 60 mph (96.5 km/h) in less than a second. It was previously reported that the range of the top version will be 620 miles — almost 1000 km.

Recall that the prototype of the second generation Tesla Roadster was shown back in November 2017.
