The regulator attacked the companies with renewed vigor amid news of large-scale layoffs at Activision Blizzard
The US Federal Trade Commission continues to try to derail the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
The regulator went to the appeal court and said that Microsoft is going to make massive cuts at Activision Blizzard, which contradicts its promises to allow the company to remain independent after the takeover.
However, the Federal Trade Commission notes that if it does succeed in overturning the deal through an appeal, this mass layoff will create great difficulties in trying to separate ActiBlizz from Microsoft.
The regulator is also again trying to convince the court that the deal will seriously harm competition in the gaming market.
