Kia and Geely are in the lead
Kia and Geely in Russia are the most popular cars on the secondary market, which find new owners in an average of 29 days, according to the results of a recent study by the service «Avto.ru». Ford and Chery have an average buyback period of 31 and 32 days, respectively.
An average car of a German or Japanese brand, a little over eight years old and with a mileage of about 120 thousand kilometers, finds a buyer in an average of 47 days.
«The top five in the mass market segment are headed by Kia and Geely; cars of this brand are removed from sale after an average of 29 days. Next come Ford — 31 days, and Chery — 32 days. Daewoo holds fifth place; the brand's cars are still in great demand in our market. Products of the domestic LADA are sold on average in 36 days», — told in «Avto.ru».
«More and more post-warranty cars are entering the secondary market; the top five in the ranking of the most popular models aged 3 to 5 years consists entirely of crossovers. The Chinese Geely Atlas is now in first place, Kia Soul and Hyundai Creta are in second, — noted in the service.
Cars aged from 10 to 14 years can also boast a fairly high sales rate: «In just three weeks, on average, Hyundai Solaris is sold. Next comes a pair of budget sedans, Volkswagen Polo and Renault Logan, with results of 24 and 26 days, respectively. The remaining places in the top five were shared by the second generation Mazda 3 and Lada 2115».
