Emojipedia editor-in-chief Keith Broni has published a list of the ten most popular emojis of 2023.
Positivity was the top priority in 2023, according to an expert, based on the most commonly used emoji in the country. The top 10 most used emojis over the past 12 months include a face with tears of joy, rolling on the floor laughing and a red heart. Of the new emojis released in 2023, the most popular were pink heart, scared, blue heart and gray.
«The most used emojis of 2023 were a selection of absolute emoji keyboard classics. Number one was a face with tears of joy, and number two was “rolling on the floor laughing.” «Heart eyes» took sixth place, and «smiling face with hearts» took 10th place in popularity»,— told Keith Broni.
Bronie says that while emojis were first introduced in 2008, they are becoming increasingly popular. He said the positive mix of emojis we love most is likely due to people spending a lot of time with friends and family, and said: «The top 10 indicates that people continue to express positivity among your friends and family. I believe that, given his track record, «crying with laughter» will remain in first place next year. Other laughter emoji will still be the most popular around the world».
