But their performance is far from record high
We recently reported that in the Top500 ranking of the highest-performance supercomputers, second place was taken by a system based on Intel CPU and GPU, which at the same time cannot boast of energy efficiency. The updated Green500 list, showing just the most energy-efficient supercomputers, has changed a lot, and systems based on Nvidia accelerators have become the leaders.
The entire top three changed at once. The Jedi system came out in first place with an efficiency of 72.733 GFLOPS/W, followed by Isambard-AI phase 1 with an indicator of 68.835 GFLOPS/W, and the third was Helios GPU with almost 67 GFLOPS/W. The highlight is that all three systems are based on Nvidia accelerators. More precisely, on the Grace Hopper Superchip in one form or another.
In terms of performance, all systems are far from leading. In the same order, they are ranked 189, 128 and 55 in the Top500. But the Frontier supercomputer, which remains the most powerful in the world, ranks 13th in Green500 with an indicator of 52.927 GFLOPS/W.
