The first Xiaomi smartphone with satellite communication support
Today Xiaomi officially introduced its new flagship smartphone Xiaomi 14 Ultra. It is designed to replace the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and compete with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Oppo Find X7 Ultra and other flagship camera phones.
As befits a flagship, Xiaomi 14 Ultra is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 single-chip platform. A large vapor chamber with an efficiency three times greater than traditional solutions is responsible for cooling the SoC.
The battery capacity was 5300 mA·h (plus 300 mA·h relative to its predecessor), supports 90 W wired charging and wireless — power 80 W. An appropriate wireless charger is offered as an accessory for a smartphone.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra has once again received an improved Leica camera. It has four modules, all 50-megapixel. Main sensor — top-end Sony LYT-900, the module with it uses a Leica Summilux lens with a variable aperture F/1.63–4.0. It captures 205% more light than the iPhone 15 Pro Max's main lens.
For optical zoom 3.2x and 5x, lenses with focal lengths of 75 and 120 mm (the latter — periscope) are responsible. The smartphone features Ultra Zoom technology, which can be used to take photos with 30x zoom. Ultra Zoom uses AI in its work: artificial intelligence can significantly improve pictures. The optical zoom and ultra-wide-angle modules use Sony IMX858 sensors. That is, this model has one Sony LYT-900 sensor and three Sony IMX858.
The camera allows you to record 4K video at 120 fps and 8K at 30 fps.
Contrary to rumors, Xiaomi 14 Ultra did not receive a titanium frame — The side frame in this model is aluminum and reinforced (both itself and in the corners). An alternative to a leather-look lid is a ceramic lid. Dimensions of the smartphone — 161.4 × 75.3 × 9.2 mm, weight — 224.4 grams.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra received a 6.73-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 3200 × 1440 pixels, frame rate 120 Hz and maximum brightness 3000 cd/sq.m.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra became the manufacturer's first smartphone with support for satellite communication (two-way).
Prices are as follows: 12/256 GB — $905, 16/512 GB — $975, 16GB/1TB — $1085
