The lead catamaran of the Sommers project was launched

In St. Petersburg, at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard, a solemn ceremony of launching two new vessels took place – the lead excursion and pleasure catamaran of the «Sommers» called «Bastion» and the fourth high-speed catamaran of the «Kotlin» project – «Fort Totleben».

The ceremonial launching of the ships was commented on by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Evtukhov. He noted the record figures for 2023 in the number of civil vessels delivered in Russia – more than 100 units. According to him, this growth trend will only intensify.

Catamaran «Bastion» will become the lead in a series of four excursion and pleasure vessels of Project 04710 «Sommers». They will be used for transportation to the forts of Kronstadt «Kronshlot» restored by 2026. and «Emperor Alexander the First».

Catamarans «Sommers» were designed taking into account the specific location of the forts in the Gulf of Finland. The developers stated that they will have improved seaworthiness for the Gulf of Finland.

The length is 25.8 m, overall width — 7.5 m, side height — 5.17 m, draft — 1.4 m, displacement — 70 tons, main engine power — 2 x 250 kW, speed — 22 km/h, crew — 3 people, passenger capacity — 147 people.

As for Fort Totleben, this is the fourth high-speed passenger catamaran of the 04580 Kotlin series, connecting the center of St. Petersburg with the Island of Forts. The vessel's capacity is up to 200 people, speed is 26 knots (50 km/h).
