Operator of the Emirates nuclear power plant «Barakah» announced the launch of the last of four power units, which was confirmed by the Atomic Energy Corporation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Previously, it was planned to launch in 2025.

Atomic Energy Corporation announces that its subsidiary Nawah Energy, operator of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, has successfully started up the Unit 4 reactor. ;mdash; says the regulator’s statement.

According to the corporation, the fourth power unit will be put into operation in the coming weeks. The plant will then begin to ramp up its electricity production, reaching its full design capacity.

The first nuclear power plant in the Arab world, Barakah, located in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, was launched in 2020. The first power unit was launched on August 1, 2020, and the start of commercial operation took place on April 6, 2021.
