Mercedes-AMG introduced the new CLE 53 convertible – an open version of the coupe that debuted last summer. It received a powerful hybrid powertrain and a folding fabric roof for fans of this body style.
The heart of the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Convertible is a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine paired with a reinforced starter-generator. Total output is 449 hp. and 560 Nm of torque. In OverBoost mode, the torque is briefly increased to 600 Nm, which provides acceleration to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h, but can be increased to 270 km/h for an additional fee.
Externally, the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 convertible is distinguished by an aggressive aerodynamic body kit with a massive radiator grille, extended wheel arches and a spoiler on the trunk lid. The interior features sporty bucket seats with Alcantara trim and carbon fiber inserts. The 11.9-inch display is tiltable.
In addition to a powerful hybrid under the hood, the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 convertible received all-wheel drive with the ability to disengage the front axle, an active suspension with several operating modes, variable steering and 11 airbags.
