The universal system is suitable for both a reusable version of the rocket and for launches in a disposable version
NPO Automation named after. Academician N.A. Semikhatov (NPOA, part of Roscosmos) plans to complete the technical design of the control system for the Amur-LNG launch vehicle this year. This was announced by Advisor to the General Director of the enterprise Alexey Aistov. According to him, the technical design stage will end in 2024, then the project will be defended in a scientific and technical council, which will issue a conclusion: move to the next stage or revision is necessary.
At the technical design stage, basic solutions are developed: the structure of the control system and the principles of its construction. After completing the technical project, the company will begin to develop the devices themselves, and then to their manufacture and testing. The universal transformable control system can be adapted for different versions of Amur-LNG: both for the returnable first stage of a future methane rocket, and for launches in a disposable version.
Earlier we wrote that the first launch of the reusable medium-class launch vehicle «Amur-LNG» planned for 2030. The rocket will be launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur region. Roscosmos General Director Yuri Borisov stated that «Amur-LNG» can be used up to 100 times — several times more than the Falcon 9 of the American company SpaceX.
