The new BAIC Beijing BJ40 Blade Hero Edition SUV, which was presented about a month ago, has entered the assembly line. This model was the latest in the off-road oriented Beijing BJ40 series, following the City Hunter.
The new Beijing BJ40 Blade Hero Edition offers petrol and diesel units. The petrol version is called Blade Hero Edition Climber, and the diesel version — Blade Hero Edition Traverser.

The car is equipped with a powerful and high-torque diesel engine, permanent all-wheel drive, front and rear electronically controlled differential locks, Pioneer L2.5 intelligent driving and a smart cabin.
The new car is equipped as standard with 265/65 R17 all-terrain tires and has increased ground clearance. The approach and departure angles of the Blade Hero Edition are 38 degrees and 36 degrees, respectively. In addition, the new car can tow a trailer of up to 2.5 tons. An electronic rear differential lock is standard on the Blade Hero Edition. The car received 11 driving modes.
Buyers can choose a 2L gasoline engine from Honeycomb Yichuang Technology or a 2L diesel engine from Beiqi Foton Motor, with maximum power of 180kW and 120kW respectively. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and feature all-wheel drive.
The interior features a completely new steering wheel, an LCD instrument panel and two 12.8-inch screens. It is important to note that the new BJ40 Blade Hero Edition does not have a sunroof, but instead uses a removable three-piece roof structure that can be stored in the trunk.
The main competitor of the new Beijing BJ40 Blade Hero Edition is the Tank 300.
