Just a little bit left until launch
SpaceX is preparing to send its giant Starship rocket on its fourth flight test on Thursday, June 6, 2024. The Starship super-heavy rocket is scheduled to lift off from SpaceX's South Texas launch site during a 120-minute window that opens at 8 a.m. ET (3 p.m. Moscow time).
Both the ship and the launch vehicle underwent modernization after the third flight test. One of the main differences from the third test should be the jettisoning of the heat-protective ring to separate the stages using the «hot» scheme. It is mounted on top of the first stage of the Super Heavy launch vehicle and will be jettisoned into the ocean after launch.
SpaceX says the primary goal of the fourth flight test is to demonstrate the recovery and reuse of Starship and the Super Heavy launch vehicle.
