Sony said its diversity of people and business has become its strength through mergers and acquisitions.

At its corporate strategy meeting, Sony said it will continue to “develop the diversity of its businesses and people to achieve continued growth and create value over the long term.”

In a slide show accompanying the presentation, Sony Group CFO Hiroki Totoki said that between fiscal years 2013 and 2023, 47 companies joined Sony's overall entertainment business, adding 5,000 employees. The slide highlighted Insomniac Games, Bungie, Crunchyroll and others.

“At Sony, we bring together employees from diverse backgrounds, including nationality, race , gender and values, and offer opportunities for growth through the intersection of knowledge and experience we gain through our diverse business structure. We thrive on our diversity, which is a combination of these qualities and experiences.”

Totoki added that mergers and acquisitions allow Sony to continue this work, which includes increasing the number of foreign nationals in management positions and women in leadership positions.
